In his role, Ryan will be responsible for marketing and sales, the further professionalisation of our sales organisation, and the scalable expansion of our activities both nationally and internationally. In doing so, he will help ensure we continue to meet the increasingly high expectations organisations have when it comes to cybersecurity, rapid response, and operational resilience.
Driving growth in the Netherlands and internationally
At Microsoft, Ryan held the position of Director of Cybersecurity, supporting large organisations with challenges around cloud security, modern workplace environments, and digital resilience. He now brings that experience to Nedscaper, where he will focus on the commercial development of the organization and on further positioning Nedscaper as a cybersecurity partner that combines technology with rapid follow‑up, always putting the customer first.
In addition, Ryan will focus on driving further growth, both nationally and internationally, across the markets in which Nedscaper operates in Europe and Africa.
“With Ryan, we bring in extensive experience in securing some of the largest organizations in the Netherlands, combined with a strong network and deep market insight,” says Thomas Verwer, founder and CEO of Nedscaper. “His arrival fits perfectly with the next phase of Nedscaper, where international scaling and further professionalisation come together. With Ryan, I’ve found the perfect right‑hand partner.”
A move driven by a human-centred approach
For Ryan, the decisive factor in joining Nedscaper was the way the organisation works with its customers. Rather than starting with technology, Nedscaper starts with the customer’s challenge. In a market where organisations are under increasing pressure to respond faster to incidents and emerging threats, that approach makes a real difference. Nedscaper’s recognition as Microsoft Security Partner of the Year 2025 also played an important role in his decision.
“Providing technology alone is not enough,” says Ryan. “You first need to understand what an organisation is truly struggling with. At Nedscaper, that’s where the conversation starts. Only then do you look at which solution or service fits. That makes it possible to help in a targeted way and build long‑term relationships."
Speed of response is becoming critical
According to Ryan, traditional security models are increasingly under pressure due to the speed and complexity of modern threats, driven in part by AI. Many organisations are finding it harder to manage this on their own and are therefore looking for a specialised partner who can combine technology with rapid follow‑up.
“Many organisations have their detection reasonably well in place by now. The real question is how quickly you can act afterwards,” Ryan explains. “That time to action is becoming increasingly critical. If you don’t respond fast enough, an incident can penetrate the core of your infrastructure within minutes. In those moments, you need a partner who doesn’t just provide tooling but can move with you operationally and truly understands your context.”
